The Peacock, the national bird of India, is a colourful, swan-sized bird, with a fan-shaped crest of feathers, a white patch under the eye and a long, slender neck.
Peacock is a family of Peafowl. Male peafowl is referred to as peacock and female as peahen. Male peafowl are known for their piercing calls and their extravagant plumage.
Peacock displays its iridescent plumage to attract the peahen. The female also displays her plumage to ward off female competition or signal danger to her young.
