Aquatic bird or Water Bird is used to refer to birds that live on or around water. In some definitions, the term especially applied to birds in freshwater habitats. In addition, some water birds are more terrestrial or aquatic than others, and their adaptations vary depending on their environment. These adaptations include webbed feet, bills and legs adapted to feed in water, and the ability to dive from the surface or the air to catch prey in water.

Some birds of prey, such as osprey and sea eagles take prey from water but are not considered water birds.

Few water birds such feed on fresh water vegetation or marsh and their beaks have been shaped in a fashion to strain special food from the water.

Water birds are quite shy. The closure you move, farther they run away. You can enjoy watching water birds doing incredible and unimaginable activities in water and perhaps click them in moments if you have a long range zoom.
