The Eiffel Tower – THE MONUMENT YOU CAN’T MISS, is world famous attraction. The Tower is made up of wright iron Champ de Mars in Paris. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, who designed and built the tower.
The Eiffel Tower was constructed in 1889 in just two yrs. to recognise the centennial of the French Revolution. The tower remained as the tallest man made structure in the world for 41 yrs.
The tower is 324 mtrs. tall about the same height as 81 storey building. Its base is square, measuring 125 metres (410 ft) on each side. It is the true technological masterpiece.
The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and second levels. The top level’s upper platform is 276 m (906 ft) above the ground – the highest observation deck accessible to the public. In total, there are 1665 steps from the esplanade up to the top of the tower. The climb from ground level to the first level is over 300 steps, and second level is 674 steps. Although there is a staircase to the top level, it is closed for public and the top floor is accessible only by lift.
The lifts travel a combined distance of 103,000 km a year – two and a half times the circumference of the Earth.
It is a known fact that the tower shrinks by about 6 inches in cold whether. The tower is repainted every 7 years and requires 60 tonnes of paint. There are 20,000 lightbulbs used on the Eiffel Tower to make it sparkle every night.

The tower comprises 18,000 metallic parts, joined together by 2.5 million rivets.
The tower sways around six to seven centimetres (2-3 inches) in the wind.
Gustave Eiffel kept a small apartment of the third floor for entertaining friends. It is now open to the public.

From the top of the tower, you can get a spectacular birds eye view of the beautiful Paris city.
You can see for miles in every direction from the top. It is quite windy up the top but the most amazing views of Paris and how it’s laid out.
They have a little room depicting where Alexander graham bell and Gustave Eiffel apparently had a meeting.
